With tapping, a string is set into vibration because of your picking hand's fingers pushing onto the fretboard. In this fifth level, we combine the technique of tapping and hammer on from nowhere to perform four note arpeggios, pentatonic scales and triads.

Full details

– In the case of four note arpeggios, we play the shapes already seen in the string skipping level 2 with the hammer on from nowhere technique adding this time a tapping note on each string.

– In the case of pentatonic scales, nothing changes in terms of basic mechanics and shapes used, but we’re adding a note on each string.

-In the case of triads, it is necessary to remove the seventh from any shapes used in the four note arpeggios. This makes the synchronization between the two hands a bit more complex.

In this part, you will practise the following aspects:
– four note arpeggios with tapping
– pentatonic scales with tapping
– triads with tapping
– muting

We recommend to experiment with these licks on every shape you know so that you improve your confidence in moving smoothly along the keyboard.
