Let's getting started with the sweep picking. With this technique your pick moves following one single direction, like it's falling through the strings with a steady downstroke or upstroke motion. Very effective for playing one-note-per-string phrases, such as triad arpeggios.

Full details

In this level we’ll see how to use sweep picking to play triad arpeggios on three strings.

For both major and minor arpeggios, the right hand movement is the same, with the only exception being the direction:
– downwards for ascending arpeggios
– upwards descending arpeggios

In the exercises, two notes are always provided on the first string, which will be played with hammer on and pull off as indicated.

In this level, you will learn the following aspects:
– correct picking motion
– clean transitions with correct muting technique
– uniform timing

This is the first sweep level and you learn the basic mechanics to master this technique. In the second level we’ll step up difficulty with an extended range of arpeggios.
