In this second level of alternate picking with legato technique, we see how to deal with a long and demanding lick presenting several string jumps. In other words, you find the integration of three different techniques: Alternate picking, Legato and String Skipping.

This mixed technique is particularly effective when you play string skipping parts because the notes played in legato give time to the right hand to move to the following string.

We recommend to study the legato and alternate picking exercises first so that you can get a more confident right hand, the picking direction and the logic behind the switch between notes played in alternate picking and legato.

In this level, you will improve the following aspects:
– smooth transition between alternate picking and legato
– playing a uniform sound, regardless the technique used
– handling string skipping with different techniques
